As mentioned above, we attended Heart Rhythm 2022 hosted by the Heart Rhythm Society. Not only was this was our first time at the conference, this was also the first time we independently exhibited at a conference and the first time publicly showcasing our HeartKey 2.0 Cloud technology. Exhibiting alongside global leaders in the MedTech industry was an incredible experience and we loved having the opportunity to showcase our newly launched HeartKey® 2.0 technology.
You can watch a quick recap of our trip here.
We were delighted to attend and present at this year’s AHA Scientific Sessions in November. This was our first time at the three-day event which showcases the latest accomplishments and innovations in cardiovascular and stroke science by global thought leaders. B-Secur was represented by our Senior Clinical Manager, Holly Easlea, who presented on two occasions.
In case you missed it, don’t worry, you can catch up here.
On top of exhibiting and presenting at conferences, the team were kept busy attending a range of events; this provided an opportunity to focus on networking and learning about industry trends and new technologies.
Representatives from our Clinical team attended Heart Rhythm Congress (HRC), the UK’s largest heart rhythm event organised by the Arrhythmia Alliance. Here the team were able to meet with our partners, make new connections with healthcare professionals and exhibiting companies as well as listen to insightful presentations about how digital health is on the rise and what is needed to implement new technology into the clinical setting.
Our Commercial team also attended HRX, one of the most important digital health conferences taking place this year who took the opportunity to network and share with delegates the work we are doing to advance heart health. Hosted by the Heart Rhythm Society, the conference convened a wide range of attendees within the digital health space from clinicians, engineers and product developers to investors and healthcare providers.
As if attending Heart Rhythm 2022 and launching HeartKey 2.0 wasn’t enough to keep us busy in April, we decided it was time for a brand and website refresh to coincide with the launch.
Our bold and vibrant new branding reflects the evolution of our technology and mindset as we expand in Medtech; the new website captures our remarkable journey and the incredible products and services we offer perfectly.
To mark World Heart Day on the 29th of September, we introduced our brand-new podcast ‘Health at Heart’. In our first two episodes, we were delighted to be joined by highly respected cardiologists, Dr David Steinhaus and Dr Andrew Mitchell, to discuss important topics in the advancement of heart health such as the convergence of medical and consumer technologies.
You can listen to the podcast here.
After all the work our team has put into our newest technology, HeartKey 2.0, we were ecstatic to be recognised as ‘Technology Business of the Year’ at the 2022 Belfast Chamber Business Awards. 2022 was the biggest awards ceremony to date, with 20 individual categories of prizes being presented at the Gala evening in Crowne Plaza, Belfast. The ‘Technology Business of the Year’ category identified those technology-based businesses located in Belfast who show innovation and entrepreneurship.
“We are thrilled to be recognised by the Belfast Chamber as Technology Business of the Year 2022 and very humbled against some incredible businesses in this category. While the recognition means a lot for our team, this is even more helpful as we seek to promote our ground-breaking and lifesaving technology to the world.” – Alan Foreman, CEO
Research has been a core foundation and strength of B-Secur since the start of the company. Our team have been continuously developing a range of new technologies which are robustly validated. However, following the launch of HeartKey 2.0 in April this year, it was time to start showcasing this research within the public domain through journal publications.
Our newly established clinical team have been working hard on a number of publications, with a key paper this year being “A universal, high-performance ECG signal processing engine to reduce clinical burden” which was published in Annals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology.
We were proud to sponsor the Arrhythmia Alliance’s two awareness weeks in 2022. The first of these was World Heart Rhythm Week (June 6-12) and aimed to spread the ‘Get to the HEART of Arrhythmias’ message.
Our CEO, Alan Foreman and Global Medical Sales Director, Mike Ferguson attended a Parliamentary Event at the Palace of Westminster as part of the awareness week. Alan and Mike joined MPs, Professors and Cardiologists as they explored subjects such as how Covid-19 is impacting on arrhythmias as well as taking a look at what’s happening elsewhere in the world and what can be done to raise international awareness of the condition.
The second awareness week, Global AF Aware Week (November 21-27) aimed to raise awareness and help to detect AF to reduce the risk of AF-related stroke.
Shockingly health experts believe that around half of those suffering with AF are undiagnosed and therefore totally unaware. This means there are millions of people around the world totally unaware they are at a heightened risk of serious heart problems. This is why events such as World Heart Rhythm Week and Global AF Aware Week are vitally important to help raise awareness and why B-Secur is always willing to help spread the message.
We just want to say a final thank-you to everyone that has followed along and supported B-Secur throughout 2022. We hope you are just as excited as we are for our journey into 2023 and all the exciting developments and announcements we have in store!
